Jo Gibson

Dance Fitness & Gym Instructor

Hi, I'm Jo Gibson, I live near Brighton in the UK, a small city with a big heart.

 

I started doing Zumba 15 years ago because I found the gym boring and was looking for a fun way to get fit. 2 lessons in and I was hooked!

​

Zumba is a Latin American music based dance/fitness programme that incorporates aerobic exercises with the dance styles of Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, and Reggaeton, as well as international choreographies from all around the world.

​

I was 43 when I did my first class, so I especially want to encourage those of you over 40 to give it a go. People from the generations who did not grow up with the fitness industry as prolific as it is today, and may feel excluded from joining in. I offer 2 types of class, standard Zumba and Zumba Gold.

​

As well as increasing fitness and helping with weight loss, Zumba gives you 'head space'. An hour of 'ME TIME'! If you're looking for a class that will lift your spirits, keep you fit and tone your body then this is for you!

I'm the first licensed instructor in Sussex bringing the BollyX fitness programme to you in live classes. Fantastic Indian Pop, Bhangra and Indian folk music with professionally choreographed dance fitness routines to give you a full body workout!

Since qualifying as a gym instructor I am now providing Functional Fitness training classes, with the over 50's  and for complete newbies to fitness in mind. Check out the Functional Fitness page on the website for details.  Combined with dance fitness, you will be giving your body all the help it needs to keep you fit and healthy so you can live the life you want to lead.

 

LICENSED TO TO TEACH ZUMBA, ZUMBA GOLD + BOLLYX

I also have an Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing

and a diploma in personal nutrition.
