Why I Created Go Go Events - From Fitness Classes to Fun Nights Out

While that's true, anyone who has attended one of my classes knows that it's about much more than exercise.
Over the years I've watched friendships form, coffee groups emerge, walking buddies connect and countless people discover that they are capable of far more than they thought.
The classes have always been about movement, but they've also been about community.
That's one of the reasons I decided to launch Go Go Events.

The Missing Piece
As we get older, many of us find that opportunities to socialise become less frequent.
Children grow up and leave home. Retirement changes our routines. Friendship circles evolve.
Yet most of us still love:
Music
Dancing
Meeting new people
Dressing up occasionally
Sharing great memories
I began to realise that many of the people who come to my classes would enjoy more opportunities to get together outside of the fitness environment.
Go Go Events was born from that idea.
More Than Just a Party
The aim isn't simply to organise events.
It's to create enjoyable experiences where people can connect, laugh, dance and make new memories.
The first event, Swinging 60's A Go-Go!, is a perfect example.
For one evening we'll step back into one of Britain's most exciting decades, celebrating the music, fashion and culture that helped shape modern Britain.
With classic vinyl, iconic songs and a welcoming atmosphere, it's designed to be a night where everyone feels comfortable joining in.
Whether you lived through the 1960s or simply love the music, it's a chance to enjoy something a little different.
How Go Go Events Links to Zumba with Jo
Although they are different businesses, the values are exactly the same.
At Zumba with Jo, I help people move.
At Go Go Events, I help people connect.
Both are built around the belief that life should contain plenty of joy, laughter and shared experiences.
Many studies suggest that staying socially connected is just as important for wellbeing as staying physically active.
Friendship, music, laughter and community all contribute to happier, healthier lives.
In many ways, Go Go Events is simply another way of supporting wellbeing.
What Can You Expect?
The 60's night is only the beginning.
I have lots of ideas for future events, including themed music nights, social gatherings and experiences that bring people together around a shared love of music and fun.
Some events may be nostalgic.
Some may be educational.
Some may be about wellness.
Some may simply be a good excuse to put on your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening out.
The common theme will always be creating a friendly, welcoming environment where people can feel comfortable coming on their own, with friends or as part of a group.
Thank You
If you've attended a Zumba, Zumba Gold or Lift & Laugh class, thank you.
Your support over the years has helped me build a wonderful community, and Go Go Events is the next chapter in that journey.
I'm excited to see where it leads.
I hope you'll come along and be part of it.
After all, life is about creating memories—and I think we're going to make some fantastic ones together.
