This weekend, The Shoreham Centre became a little part of India.
Music and smiles as people of all ages came together for the Ultimate Bolly Zumba Party — a joyful
90-minute celebration of movement inspired by the vibrant rhythms of Bollywood.
The event was a joyous afternoon and an atmosphere that can only be described as electric. From the moment the first beat dropped, the room was filled with energy, laughter and a real sense of togetherness.

Three Instructors, Three Unique Styles at The Ultimate Bolly Zumba Party
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the opportunity to experience three instructors, each bringing their own personality and teaching style to the event:
Jo Gibson – Zumba Gold, Zumba and BollyX instructor
Marie Saunders – Zumba Gold, Zumba, BollyX and Broadway Boogie instructor
Sheryl Rusbridge – Zumba Gold and Zumba instructor
Each instructor led a selection of routines that combined Bollywood-inspired dance with fitness movements designed to work the entire body.
A Full Head-to-Toe Workout
While the event felt like one big party, participants were also getting a seriously effective workout.
The carefully selected songs and choreographies incorporated a wide range of movements that challenged:
Cardiovascular fitness
Leg strength
Core stability
Upper body coordination
Balance and mobility
The result was a fun and varied session that exercised the whole body without ever feeling like a chore.
Fitness Disguised as Fun
Bollywood music has a unique ability to lift the spirits. The infectious beats, expressive movements and upbeat atmosphere make it impossible not to smile.
Rather than focusing on reps or calories, participants were simply enjoying the music and moving their bodies. Before they knew it, they had completed 90 minutes of exercise.
That’s the magic of dance fitness.

Bringing Generations Together
One of the most inspiring aspects of the Ultimate Bolly Zumba Party was the wonderfully mixed group of participants.
Different age groups and fitness levels shared the same dance floor, proving that exercise does not need to be divided by age or ability. Everyone moved at their own pace, took breaks when needed, and joined in as much as they felt comfortable.
The result was a truly inclusive event where everyone felt welcome.
The Power of Camaraderie
There was a real sense of support and encouragement throughout the afternoon.
Participants laughed together and celebrated every song. Some were seasoned dance-fitness enthusiasts, while others were trying this style of class for the first time.
By the end of the session, it was clear that this was about far more than exercise. It was about connection, confidence and shared joy.
